Innovative Training Experience Helps IT Adopt Agile while Protecting Investments in Existing Methodologies

DETROIT, MI., April 19, 2016 – Today Broadsword Solutions Corporation (Broadsword), a leading performance innovation company and developer of the “Agile Scrum Learning Experience” for the State of Michigan, announced that it has expanded capacity to make its innovative hands-on Agile Training classes available to greater numbers of State government employees, enabling them to align their existing methodology with Agile values and frameworks.

The Agile Scrum Learning Experience is a practical, hands-on agile training class that helps State employees have fun while learning to integrate Agile values and Scrum techniques with the established methodology they are already using.  Through games, exercises and interactive role-play, participants learn about Scrum by actually using Scrum in a team environment.

“One of the great challenges of adopting Agile at the State government level is maintaining the investment in structure and discipline required to keep agency customers satisfied,” said Jeff Dalton, President of Broadsword, who has conducted Agile Training classes for hundreds of employees of the State of Michigan and its vendors.  "Our expanded Agile Training classes solve that problem by helping State Directors and managers customize the training to adjust the balance and address the need to make progress, while still effectively managing risk.”

“We had other vendors who weren’t willing to listen to the challenges that we felt we had,” said Ward Beauchamp, EPMO Director, Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget. “Broadsword was able to listen to our main concerns and provide some tailored training to accommodate that. Broadsword helped us be able to say, ‘We can do this.’ ”
