"Just the FAQs" Features Alternative Practices

This month's edition of the “Just the FAQs” CMMI series addresses Alternative Practices, which the CMMI considers a “substitute” for one or more of the CMMI Specific or Generic Practices.

"While Alternative Practices are sometimes treated as secret black magic that only the most seasoned Lead Appraisers can interpret, my experience has been quite the opposite," says Jeff Dalton, president of Broadsword and author of this month's "Just the FAQs" article.  In the piece, Jeff explores some of the "rules" regarding Alternative Practices and the CMMI.

Jeff Dalton and Pat O’Toole launched the monthly series to provide answers to the most frequently asked questions about the CMMI, SCAMPI and process improvement.
