Innovative
Product Helps “Extra-Small” Firms Achieve CMMI Ratings Affordably
WATERFORD,
MI, April 23, 2015 – Today Broadsword Solutions Corporation (Broadsword), a
performance innovation company, announced that it has released CMMIxs
(www.cmmixs.com), a subscription-based product designed to help emerging or
“extra-small” IT and engineering firms compete for lucrative, multi-year
contracts from large buyers like the federal government that require or
recommend a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) rating.
CMMI is a
world-class behavioral model for engineering performance improvement that was
developed at Carnegie Mellon University.
Large buyers use CMMI Ratings as a tool to differentiate among the most
qualified suppliers. Until now, some companies
with under 25 employees have been blocked from bidding due to the high cost,
complexity and time commitment of adopting the CMMI with traditional methods.
"For
many extra-small companies, the road to achieving a CMMI Level 2 or CMMI Level
3 seems too complex, expensive and time-consuming,” said Broadsword’s
president, Jeff Dalton. “Others small
firms are looking for ways to better position themselves for acquisition or
merger. CMMIxs helps them overcome the
barriers.”
Broadsword is
celebrating its 10-Year Anniversary by expanding its ability to drive
high-performance engineering to more companies, using its AgileCMMI methodology
in collaborative consulting, coaching and training solutions, including the
Agile Resiliency Architecture (ARA), Multi-Model Improvement (MMI), and its
newly expanded Agile Transformation offering.
With the release of CMMIxs, Broadsword is able to impact a previously
under-served segment of the industry.
“Built around
virtual tools and flexible timing, CMMIxs is made available on-demand whenever companies
need it,” said Broadsword’s Director of Consulting, Julie Calfin. “It’s exciting to help them take advantage of
our video and webinar technology, online collaboration tools, and our
proprietary CMMI Accelerator Tool Kit to get them started with CMMI success. We expect great things from our CMMIxs
clients!”
Engineering
and software professionals interested learning more are invited to visit the
