Small Organizations continue to dominate the CMMI market!

According the CMMI Institute's latest "CMMI Maturity Profile Report," small organizations with less than 500 employees are dominating the market with CMMI Adoption.  The most interesting piece here is that almost HALF of all organizations adopting CMMI are less than 100 people!  I've written about this in the past when I wrote about how the CMMI is more beneficial for small, agile organizations than for large ones.  Small organizations are looking for the value and opportunity CMMI brings to their business, and more and more are adopting the model.  This has certainly been my experience also - most of our new clients are on the "small" side.  Here's the data:

BROADSWORD SELECTED TO SPEAK AT SEPG

Jeff Dalton to Share "Agile Resiliency" Performance Improvement Architecture

WATERFORD, MI, July 18, 2013 -- Jeff Dalton, president of Broadsword, has been selected to share his Agile Resiliency Architecture for achieving performance and process improvement results at SEPG North America 2013.  The conference takes place on October 1-2, 2003 from 7:30 - 5:00 p.m. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Mr. Dalton will present "Agile Resiliency:  How CMMI Will Make Agile Thrive and Survive."

Hosted by the CMMI Institute, the SEPG Conference Series is the premier, global conference series improving software and systems process management.  This year, SEPG NA has been re-imagined to help software and engineering professionals explore using the CMMI to improve performance and the bottom line through first-person case studies, interactive workshops and powerful presentations by experienced speakers.  Mr. Dalton's presentation is designed to introduce participants to the concept of using the CMMI and it's Generic Practices as the primary tool that can make Agile stronger by building a resilient Agile architecture.

Mr. Dalton is a popular author, speaker and performance improvement consultant whose talks on "Agile Resiliency" have been heard by audiences across North America, Europe, and the internet.  He has written extensively on the subject, including in Cutter IT Journal's November 2012 issue.

"For more than a quarter of a century, software organizations have launched one attempt after another to establish a useful framework for effective continuous improvement," Jeff Dalton said.  "The success of both CMMI and Agile methods has had a positive effect on the software industry, but each has yet to be successful driving the industry-wide levels of adoption we need to claim victory.  So we asked:  why not combine the best of each?"

Engineering and software professionals interested in attending the SEPG NA 2013 Conference are invited to register for the event at:  http://sepgconference.org/register-sepg.
